Not truly, but diminished. However, there has been a movement back to same for "holders of digital rights" due to issues/concerns you mention. Guy at Berklee College of Music has some interesting, if maybe dated, look at same in music context:

Here's a WAY outdated site another student and I created in lawschool (right around time napster case was happening). Had hoped the school/students would keep it going, but looks like no updates for a long, long time
